Energy Juice Recipes

At the grocery store we’re inundated with rows and rows of energy drinks, with each one featuring a nearly incomprehensible ingredient list. Did you know that your produce section actually features ingredients that are just as effective, while still being natural and, in most cases, easy to pronounce and spell? It does, and these juicing recipes for energy take full advantage of that fact.

Morning Wake Up Call Juice

  • 2 green or red apples, cored
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • Handful of kale
  • Handful of spinach
  • Handful of romaine lettuce
  • 2 stalks celery
  • Chunk of fennel
  • 1” of Ginger

Press all of the ingredients through a juicer and pour over ice. Enjoy!  This is a great juice to start the day off with as it gives you the nutrient dense greens such as kale, spinach, romaine lettuce and celery and the natural energizing electrolytes they contain mixed with the sugar and sweetness from the apple, with the eye opening bite of the ginger!

Electrolyte Energy Boost

  • 1 apple, cored
  • 1 orange, peeled
  • 1 lime
  • 4 sticks of celery
  • 1/2 cup coconut water

Push everything through a juicer, and then add some coconut water to dilute it and to help with hydration. Drink up! The boost of electrolytes from the celery and coconut water with the vitamin C from the orange and lime make this a great energy boosting blend as well as a great workout recovery drink.

Eye Opener

  • 4 sticks of celery
  • 1 apple
  • 5 sprigs of fresh mint
  • 1 lime

Push everything through a juicer and enjoy.  The mint adds a zing that is great for mental clarity and the lime gives a tart jump to your day.

Citrus Wake-Me-Up Blend

  • 2 oranges, peeled
  • 1 grapefruit, peeled
  • 1 lemon, peeled
  • Water
  • Honey ( optional but helps offset the sourness of the grapefruit and lemon )

Press everything through a juicer and dilute with water and / or add a small amount of honey to taste.

Carrot Energizer Blend

  • 4 carrots
  • 1 red apple
  • 3 stalks celery
  • 1 handful of spinach or kale
  • 1 handful flat leaf parsley
  • Lemon juice (optional)

Push everything through your juicer and serve cold! Add a small amount of lemon juice if you do not plan to eat this right away to prevent oxidation.  Lemon juice also adds a nice tartness that compliments this blend nicely.
