Kale Juicing Recipes

Labeled as a bitter green, kale is actually quite mild when compared to other leafy vegetables like mustard greens. Available year round, kale is most plentiful and at its peak nutritional value from October to December, although it can be harvested well into February in many locations.

Often labeled as a super food, kale is incredibly rich in iron, vitamin K, and various other essential vitamins and minerals. It is almost always contained in beverages branded as “green” juices due to its nutritional value as well as its flavor: unlike other greens with similar nutrient levels, the flavor of kale is well tolerated by most and can be easily masked with other vegetables or fruit for those who prefer less vegetable-like beverages. Like many greens, kale is highly alkalizing and thus is great for juicing for weight loss recipes.

When juicing kale, it can be helpful for those who prefer less bitterness to remove the stems. Like most greens and lettuces, kale is grown close to the ground and for this reason each leaf should be washed individually to ensure that you don’t end up with dirt in your kale juice recipe.

Here are some recipes to get you started. You can alter the quantities or the ingredients based on your personal preferences.
