Red cabbage juice is an incredible low calorie vegetable juice that is fantastic for cleanses as well as for juicing for weight loss recipes. But to create a juice that is actually palatable you’ll need to provide it a little help with some complimentary ingredients. Also because red cabbage does not provide much actual juice you need to help push through the cabbage juice goodness with more productive fruits and vegetables. In keeping with the theme of this recipe we are sticking with mostly red fruits and veggies:
¼ - ½ Head Red Cabbage
¼ - ½ Red Beet ( depending on how large the beet is)
2 red delicious apples
½ cucumber (optional)
Yes I know the "lemon" is not red but it helps to take some of the bite off of the red cabbage and offsets some of the sweetness of the beet and apple. If this juice still ends up being too sweet for you, you can water it down a little bit with water, or even better if you have a cucumber handy this is a great way to mellow out the juice as well.
Instructions: Start by juicing the cabbage first so the other more productive ingredients can help push all the cabbage juice through. Next comes the red beet and follow with the red apples and optional cucumber. Finish it off with a squeeze of the lemon or you can peel it at put a few slices through the juicer.
